This week's praise and worship was led by Jackie Rodda, who played a track from her newly-launched CD as part of the worship.

Pastor Jonathan Fiddy spoke on Genesis 3, how God created a perfect world, with human beings at the centre of it, on whom He could lavish all His love. Unfortunately, man's strong will caused him to sin and disobey the one rule that God had laid down about the garden - not to eat from one particular tree as it would be harmful for them. God's rules for us on how to live our lives are there to protect us, not to spoil our fun! Because Adam and Eve ate the fruit which God had warned them would harm them, death and sickness and sin and fear came as a curse on mankind, because of their willful disobedience.

The good news is that Jesus, God's Son, came to earth and chose to put Himself through death so that He could forever break that curse and set us free from it! He was the only man who could be totally obedient to God and live a perfect life. When we accept that He died for us, He renews our relationship with His Father God, which was broken through our sinfulness and disobedience.

Wow - we can get in touch again with our Creator, the One who made us and loves us so much that He even sent His own Son to go through agonies on the cross just so that we could be restored to Him and freed from the effects of our sinfulness! What a loving, amazing God!

"For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life." (John 3v16).
