A wonderful presence of God's healing grace and mercy was felt during the time of worship and the reading of His precious word. Praise and worship this Sunday was led by Debbie Fiddy and accompanied by Pastor Jon Fiddy and Dave King on guitar with Natalie on vocals, God's word was brought to us by Pastor Edward Evans and was on the very important topic of marriage! Adam and Eve were our very first role models and God gave them His blessing and a covenant relationship, making it God centred, He being the spiritual head with Adam and Eve under His covering, the covenant relationship is not only a promise before God, but in a true biblical term of covenant, which took place in front of at least two witnesses and then sealed with blood. So in this day and age where people have multiple relationships before in quote 'finding the right one' consequently in truth having made many one flesh covenants! Ouch ... not how God originally planned 'so before finding the right one, you may find you are carrying a lot more baggage into your desired relationship. God had originally planned that the woman would stay a virgin till the right one came into her life which today is practically unheard of and that the marriage vows would be made before God and witnesses and sealed by the consummation the coming together where the women's hymen would be broken hence the blood. In today's society, marriage has taken a hefty blow and many even break down. It has even changed from being solely a man and a woman to same sex which at one time would be frowned upon! Thankfully, God offers a way out for all mans mistakes (sins) in the form of His precious son Jesus Christ who died in our place so we would not be judged but instead washed clean by His once and for all sacrifice, His death on the cross, His blood an everlasting covenant between God and man, we who have all sinned and gone our own way can receive total forgiveness if we but ask Him to come into our lives and confess, repent .Repent meaning a turn around from what we know to be wrong and allowing His spirit to dwell in us hence washing us from the inside out and making us new, what the bible calls being born again! 'For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son and whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life'. So today when we see relationships failing we know God has the answer we only have to ask His help and we can receive prayer for our messed up lives from sin , then marriages and lives can be given a fresh Godly start free from the baggage (burden) of sin.
