Sunday's service started with a time of praise and worship led by Deborah Fiddy.

Pastor Jonathan spoke this week on 'The Fall, why there is pain and suffering', continuing the sermon series that he started last week on 'Key landmarks in the Bible'.

When God created the earth, the Bible tells us that everything was perfect. There was great beauty, there was vast food resources, there was no suffering, nor was there any sin. But we are told that Satan came to Eve, and questioned what God had told her regarding the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. God had said that everything was good and permissible, except to eat of that tree. Satan then twisted God's word, and pointed out the desirability of the fruit. All sin is like this, it can look tempting, and bring pleasure in the short term, but it always results in pain and consequence. Adam and Eve then ate of the fruit, and their 'eyes were opened', they became aware of sin, and their innocence was lost. Because of this, sin entered into the world, and a cataclysmic change occurred resulting in death and suffering, laws came into motion that cause all things; our bodies, materials, etc to ware out and breakdown. Sin entered into man's heart and his line, so that he would seek to do his own will, and not acknowledge God. This is why a baby has to be trained, naturally it only wants to do what it wants! I want to do this, and I want to do that. God could not be in the presence of sin, so fellowship between man and God like it was, was lost. But where the first Adam failed, God promised a second, which was Jesus Christ. Through Him, the price for our sin was paid, if we acknowledge God and accept the payment he made for our sin, we can experience Him, and know Him in our lives. He can bring peace to every storm in our lives, and loves to make Himself known to us. Seek Him
