Visiting preacher at the service on Sunday morning was Aberystwyth Salvation Army Captain Ray Hobbins. He spoke on the holiness of God, drawing a picture of heaven from Revelation and making comparisons with the fiery, thundering mountain where Moses met God and was given the law. Rushing along a stream of Bible verses, Ray showed how God imparts holiness to those who come to him through Jesus Christ, how no-one could ever match the full measure of God's holiness, but perfect purity should still be every disciple's aspiration. As always, there was plenty of singing at Emmanuel; the morning ended appropriately with the hymn 'Holy, Holy, Holy, Lord God Almighty'. The church meets every week in Manorbier at 10.15 am.
