It was back to normality last Saturday, with Golf Foundation for the juniors, and for some, a lesson with Mark.

Gill took one group putting, and Elliot Ronowitz, Joe Worley, Dan Hawkey, Luke Rees and Leo Moreland all passed this part of their Golf Foundation, with Leo also winning the overall putting competition.

Mark and Ian concentrated on the chipping, both the action and three out of five near to the green. Kerri Lewis, David Webb, Greg Palin, Hugo Wellum, Iwan Osborne, Jack Hawkey, Joanna Rowe, Jack Murphy, Ollie Worley, Rhys Lewis, Shelby Rossiter and Toby Rossiter all passed with flying colours and proved they could chip with style!

Simon and Julia concentrated on the long game, grip, set up and action - as well as three out of five through a target. All the children did extremely well, hitting the ball straight and showing a great improvement from previous weeks.

Bronwen Thomas, Huw Thomas, Matthew Smith, Rhianna Davies, Nicholas Hall, Lewis Collins and George Lander all passed the target golf. Special mention to Bethan Osborne and Robyn Knibb who hit the ball really well and are not far off reaching the target.

This Saturday there is a golf as normal, with more areas of Golf Foundation to be completed.

Last week, Holly Watkins and Dan Cope travelled to play in the Nick Faldo Competition. They had a practice round on the Wednesday and played on the Thursday. Both did really well, but didn't quite make the prizes.

On Friday, it was the Dyfed Schools Competition. Dan and Holly played yet again along with Richard Morton, Niclas Thomas, David Ayers and Oliver Duckett. It was Dan's day and he won the competition, with Greenhill School coming second on the day.

On Sunday, South Wales girls travelled to Tenby. These ladies organise competitions around the county. It costs £5 to join and the girls get the opportunity to play on a variety of courses around South Wales. It's a long time since they've been to Tenby and it was great to see 40 young girls keen to play our links course.

Holly Watkins, Rachel Scourfield and Georgia Thomas, all have been members before, and newcomers Jessica Wellum, Claudette Pouton and Emma Guerreriro all enjoyed a day out in the sunshine.

Holly had the third best gross, and Emma also came in the prizes in her category, thanks to an excellent chip out of the bunker on the sixth for a two!

Golf is as normal next Sunday, don't forget to sign up, and good luck to all those playing in Trefloyne Open.
