Sir,

I would like to take this opportunity to thank the people of Carmarthen West and South Pembrokeshire for electing me on May 1 to serve a further term as their Assembly Member.

This constituency has some fantastic assets - good schools, unsurpassed scenery and natural heritage, and a highly skilled and motivated workforce.

But there is still much to be done. Our transport links need improvement, our health service needs continued investment and we need to concentrate on our local economy.

Election night was thrilling, and I was especially pleased to increase Labour's percentage share of the vote. The constituency had a much higher turnout than many parts of Wales - a testament to the voters. The result, and my subsequent re-election means that Labour has the seal of approval from all parts of Carmarthen West and South Pembrokeshire.

The next four years will be as busy as the first, of that I am sure, and I look forward to working, once again, for my home constituency.

Christine Gwyther AM,

32 Blue Street,

Carmarthen.
