Students from Pembrokeshire College have been congratulated on their A-Level results today, with the Welsh Government’s Deputy Minister for Skills and Tertiary Education visiting the college.
Deputy Minister, and Senedd Member for Sir Gaerfyrddin Cefin Campbell, congratulated learners across Wales as A-level, AS, Advanced Welsh Baccalaureate and vocational qualification learners who received their results this morning.
Wales once again saw strong A-level result with increases at all key grades compared to last year and a notable increase on 2019. Additionally, Wales saw an increase in the number of A and AS Levels entries this year compared to 2025.
The Deputy Minister visited Pembrokeshire College in Haverfordwest this morning, where he met students collecting their results.
He said: "Llongyfarchiadau, to everyone receiving their results today. You should be incredibly proud of what you've achieved. Whether you're heading to university, an apprenticeship, employment or exploring your next steps, plenty of exciting opportunities lie ahead. I also want to recognise the unwavering support from teachers and education staff whose efforts have played a vital role in these learners' achievements.”

Pembrokeshire County Council has extended congratulations to all learners for their hard work, dedication, and perseverance.
The Council also wants to acknowledge and celebrate the unwavering support of families, teachers, and school staff.
Council Chief Executive Will Bramble said: "Today is first and foremost about celebrating the achievements of our young people. Their results reflect a great deal of hard work, determination and resilience, supported by families, teachers and school staff across Pembrokeshire.”

More than 170 learners are now preparing to move from the classrooms and workshops of Pembrokeshire College to the lecture halls at some of the UK’s most prestigious universities after celebrating outstanding results this summer.
With destinations including Oxford and Cambridge as well as Bristol, Durham, Exeter and the Vogue College of Fashion, these outstanding achievers will be studying everything from law and criminology to paramedic science, engineering, marine biology and games development.
Former A-level student Etienne Hole will be taking up his place at the University of Oxford to read History and English while mature learner Huw Davies, is heading to the University of Cambridge to read Engineering.
Further A-level successes include: Cara Merriman, Cardiff University to read Criminology and Noah Scott, University of Exeter to read Psychology with further A-level student Sutton Trust 13/30 Group destinations including: Bristol, Southampton, Bath, Nottingham and Manchester.
Proving that the Diploma route is a credible alternative to A-levels, over 70 Diploma students will be progressing to university including Health and Social Care learner Tegan Reynolds who is heading to Swansea University to read Nursing (Child) and fellow learner Lilly Frost who will be reading Psychology and Language Sciences at the University of Reading.
Fellow Diploma students will be taking up places across the UK to study a range of subjects including Sports Conditioning, Medical Engineering, Theatre and Film, Primary Education, Conservation Biology, Radiotherapy, Acting and Zoology.
Reflecting on this year’s results, College Principal Dr Barry Walters commented: “This is a hugely exciting day for our learners and we are incredibly proud of everything they have achieved. Behind every result is a story of commitment, perseverance and ambition. It has been wonderful to see so many of our learners achieve the outcomes they have worked so hard for.
“Whether they are progressing to university, starting an apprenticeship, entering employment or taking another exciting route towards their future, our learners have shown that there are many different ways to turn ambition into opportunity. We are delighted to see them taking their next steps with confidence and purpose.
“Our learners’ achievements are also a reflection of the dedication of our teaching and support teams, who work tirelessly to help every individual recognise their potential and give them the encouragement and guidance they need to succeed.
“Today is about celebrating our learners and looking ahead to all that lies in store for them. We wish every one of them the very best for the future and hope they will look back on their time with us with pride. We will certainly be proud to follow their journeys and celebrate their successes in the years ahead.”
This year’s GCSE results will be announced next Thursday, August 20.
