Pupils from Tenby Church in Wales VCP School, St Florence Church in Wales VC School and Fenton Community Primary School spent the day with the Darwin Centre for their Science Aglow event in the Merlin Theatre at Pembrokeshire College.

Pupils presented their scientific investigations or science research projects to the Darwin team and took part in a round robin of STEM based activities.

Ginny and Russ from Silent World to You had their collection of reptiles and minibeasts, Tim and Manon from Pembrokeshire Coastal Forum delivered a workshop on renewable energy and Dave from Neptune’s Army of Rubbish Cleaners and Mari from Keep Wales Tidy explored the marine plastic problem.

The finale was presented by Richard Rees-Khan from Saundersfoot who spoke to the pupils about his inspirational work with the Maldives Whale Shark Research Programme, he wowed the pupils with his shark knowledge and efforts to conserve the endangered Whale Shark.
