What’s your favourite part of the job, what’s the worst part, and what does the county council’s coat of arms symbolise? - just a few of the questions put by pupils from Manorbier VC School to the chairman of Pembrokeshire County Council last Friday.
The Years 5 and 6 pupils enjoyed a behind-the-scenes guided tour of County Hall with Clr. Wynne Evans, visiting the education and highways departments among many others.
Accompanied by their head teacher Mrs. Sharon Davies, teacher Mr. Will Elliott, local Clr. Phil Kidney and Mrs. Joyce Kidney, the children also enjoyed a lively question and answer session in the council chamber.
“The children have had a wonderful time exploring County Hall and finding out about how our council works,” said headteacher Mrs. Davies.
“They were all in awe of Clr Wynne Evans’s boundless energy and commitment to his role. All felt he inspired them to further develop their roles as prefects and school councillors.
“We would all like to sincerely thank Clr. Evans and staff for a truly exhilarating learning experience.”
