Lamphey Primary School were invited to attend a More Able and Talented All-Wales Conference held at Cardiff City Hall on Monday.

The school had been requested by Christopher Grace, of Shakespeare Schools Festival, after he had seen the performance of Hamlet at Torch Theatre in November 2015.

The children, under the watchful eye of director and class teacher, Mrs. Thomas, performed in front of 120 headteachers from throughout Wales and Prof. Graham Donaldson, who has been instrumental in reforming the new Welsh curriculum.

After seeing the performance, Prof. Donaldson stated that he had been inspired by it. “I had come to deliver a talk and gone away having learnt something.”

And he has now offered to expand the Shakespeare Schools Festival throughout Scotland.
