The rugby season kicked off with a bang for the Ysgol Greenhill boys last week.

On September 18, we welcomed the Year 10 and the 1st XV Rugby teams from Ysgol Preseli for their first matches of the season. Greenhill’s Year 10 team played some good rugby, and despite eventually losing their match, they tackled relentlessly and scored two very good tries.

Ysgol Greenhill’s 1st XV started their season with an impressive win over the visitors, racking up an impressive 38 -7 win. Tries on the night came from Jake Roberts, Callum Earland, Dylan Johns and Cameron Broadhust. The impressive rugby played by the boys in their opening match shows great promise for another successful season for the squad.

On Thursday night it was the turn of the Year 8 and 9 boys to play host, this time to Milford Haven School. Some impressive Rugby was played by all, and each school came away with one win each. Well done to all the boys!

Rising Stars

Ysgol Greenhill staff and pupils would like to say a massive congratulations to former pupils Ryan Conbeer and Dom Booth who played together for the Scartlets 1st team last weekend. We are very proud of you both and will continue to follow your careers with great interest. Da iawn bois!

Welsh Cup Kicks Off

September 18 was a great night for Ysgol Greenhill’s Year 8 football team. The boys welcomed Ysgol Preseli for the first round of the Welsh Cup.

The boys put in a spirited performance, coming from behind twice to eventually win 5-4.

Every squad member played a vital role in what proved to be a very exciting game to watch. Greenhill now advance to the next round of the Cup – Da iawn bois!

National Coding Week

National Coding Week began on September 16, and to celebrate, Ysgol Greenhill hosted a variety of different workshops and talks for the students.

Monday saw talks for the 6th Form on the CISCO course which the school offers via University of Wales Trinity St. David Computing Department, with many of the students signing up to get involved.

On Tuesday, Swansea University’s Technocamp were back in with us, holding another fantastic workshop for our GCSE students.

Our Lower school students got the chance at their own workshops, building Lego Mindstorms. A huge thank you goes out to all those who visited the school and led such fun and informative events for our students.
