A FORMER hospitality student at Pembrokeshire College, Mitchell, now manages Adam’s Eden café - part of the much-loved charity Adam’s Bucketful of Hope on Dew Street, Haverfordwest and a vibrant hub for locals and visitors alike.

Mitchell said: “Before I started at College, I wanted to become a paramedic. But after experiencing a bit of a breakdown, I realised I needed to take my life in a completely different direction. On a bit of a whim, I decided to study hospitality instead – and it’s turned out to be one of the best decisions I could have made.”

Since then, Mitchell’s passion and dedication have flourished. Earlier this year, he won Gold at the 2025 Skills Wales competition, a milestone he describes as a major confidence boost and confirmation that he’s found his calling.

“Through a friend I was introduced to Adam’s Bucketful of Hope, and I now have the privilege of running the café Adam’s Eden. Getting it up and running has been an incredible journey, both personally and professionally. It’s given me the chance to grow, develop new skills, and honour the incredible work the charity does while creating a welcoming space for the community.”

The café shares the charity’s wider aim of supporting people through challenging times by offering a sense of community and practical help. Under Mitchell’s leadership, Adam’s Eden is not only thriving as a local eatery but is also reinforcing its place as a cornerstone of community spirit in Haverfordwest.

“Running Adam’s Eden has been a life-changing opportunity,” Mitchell added. “I wouldn’t be where I am today without the support and encouragement of the College guiding me along the way.”

The team at Pembrokeshire College couldn’t be prouder of Mitchell’s achievements, with hospitality lecturer Christophe Stocker calling his journey “remarkable”.
