FOR June's 'Caffe Vista, Up-Close and Personal' event. the venue welcomes the return of Eddie Walker 'Beyond The Blues'. Eddie Walker started his professional career over thirty years ago and is a veryaccomplished guitar picker. He has recorded 11 albums, appeared several times at Cambridge Folk Festival andCeltic Connections, yearly at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, and toured throughout Europe. This has been as a solo performer and with his previous playing partner John James, one of the classiest Welsh acoustic guitarists around, in their band Carolina Shout! Eddie delighted customers just over two years ago with his performance in Caffe Vista with the highly regarded harmonica player Fraser Speirs. Eddie had us all mesmerised with his heart-felt songs, stories 'from the road' and encyclopaedic knowledge of Ragtime and Old Blues music! Eddie plays the music of early Country Blues, Ragtime, Hillbilly and Western Swing stars such as Mississippi John Hurt, Blind Blake, Jimmie Rodgers, Big Bill Broonzy, Doc Watson, Sonny Terry and Brownie Mcghee. Thrown in for good measure, are also some very fine original songs! The doors for the performance on Friday, June 6, will open at 7.30 pm and the performance will start at 8.30 pm sharp.
