The first event to raise money in memory of ‘true Tenby legend’ Chris ‘Faddy’ Thomas will kick-off this Easter Sunday, with a memorial rugby charity match at Heywood Lane.
‘Faddy’ was a former volunteer crew member of Tenby RNLI and a sporting stalwart for Tenby United RFC, who sadly passed away in July of last year.
Now, The Kick and Catch Tenby set-up in memory of Faddy by his friends, will be holding two annual memorial events to raise money for the Bristol Heart Institute, so that they can continue to make an impact and improve the lives of people as they did with ‘Faddy’.
The first of which will take place on Sunday, April 20.
Details are as follows:
12 pm - Gates open
12.30 pm - U16s Curtain Raiser
2.30 pm - Charity game (1st half contact, 2nd half non contact)
Auction and Raffle to follow.
Entry: £6 per ticket - you will receive a Faddy Pint Cup with entry.
Food will be available at the ground from their usual food stand along with a hog roast kindly donated by Matthew Ronowitz from Qube Group.
There will be fairground rides at the ground - please note these are cash only.
Raffle tickets will be for sale on the day for £1 each.
For safety reasons due to families with children attending, there will be no parking at the ground other than blue badge holders.
Parking is available in the Clicketts or at the school.
You will be able to donate to Bristol & Weston Hospitals Charity either by cash or card on the day.
Hoodies and polos will be for sale on entry on Sunday when you purchase your tickets. We do however advise to get your tops this week from Tenby Rugby Club on Upper Frog Street to avoid missing out on sizes.

You can pay by card at The Hope and Anchor and then collect from the club. You can also purchase tops on Saturday from Heywood Lane between the hours of 10am to 3pm.
“We’d firstly like to say a huge thank you for the overwhelming support we’ve received over the past few months. It just proves how loved Faddy really was, and we can’t wait to see you all on Sunday!” said a spokesperson for the Kick and Catch.
Another fundraising event will be held in Tenby in the summer, on Sunday, July 13 which will be a charity/memorial fishing event and subsequent auction of fish caught and auction of gifts from donors, to be held at The Hope and Anchor on St Julian’s Street.
