All play areas, plus the Jubilee Park and Nature Trail, were currently undergoing an inspection audit in order that a programme of general maintenance work can be agreed, members of East Williamston Community Council heard recently.
In this respect, council wished to record thanks and appreciation for the assistance provided by the Pembrokeshire College of Technology. The equipment is, of course, in good order as this is inspected by qualified councillors on a weekly basis.
At a recent council meeting, members were also informed that a problem still existed in the Jubilee Park area due to some owners continuing to ignore the signs requesting them to clean up after their pets.
An unfortunate incident was reported recently when members of a class of young children from a local school, using the park area for their nature lesson, (the fenced play area being closed during repairs) had their clothing soiled. The situation has been reported to the dog warden (who has the statutory powers to issue on the spot fines) and the area is to be included in the schedule for regular patrol.
Planning application for consultation: relocation of car park adjacent Coppins Lodge.
Planning application granted by PCC: extension at Tregwenes, Kingsmoor Road, Kilgetty.
There were concerns regarding the state of some public footpaths in the area and council was progressing enquiries with Pembrokeshire County Council as to the current policy on these.
A petition was to be started by Pentlepoir Post Office in an attempt to establish a safe pedestrian crossing in the vicinity, especially for the protection of the elderly.
Reports of a late night disturbance at the Broadmoor play area had been received, police had been informed and the area was to be patrolled.
Various items had been reported to the appropriate departments of Pembrokeshire County Council for attention during the period and councillors would continue to work for the benefit of the community wherever possible.
