The April meeting of East Williamston Community Council was held in the East Williamston Community Hall recently. Inspection of play areas was generally satisfactory although it was noted that not all dog owners were cleaning up when walking their pets in the park. Unfortunately, a small number of owners are likely to spoil the facility for others, since should this persist, a ban will be placed on all dogs entering the park and nature trail area. Planning applications for consultation were as follows: dwelling - Pentlepoir Cottage; extension - Bush Croft, Cold Inn; dwelling - Kilawen House, Kilgetty; two dwellings - Plot 2 Leylands Wooden; dwelling - Bali Hai, Valley Road; extension - Honeystone, East Williamston; dwelling - Sunflower Lodge, Valley Road. Planning applications granted by Pembrokeshire County Council: two dwellings - Templebar Road (in retrospect); barn and stables - East Williamston; conversion - Laverock Rise, Pentlepoir; topographical changes - Hill Park Caravan Park. Planning application refused by Pembrokeshire County County two dwellings at rear Cold Inn Cottage. Street light failure had been reported at Broadmoor and council was continuing efforts to arrange a meeting with the county highways department regarding the state of the bus shelter in Pentlepoir. Council's disappointment at the low level of response shown by the residents of East Williamston regarding the recently completed sewerage scheme has led to a decision not to proceed further with Welsh Water at this stage. Council wished to record grateful thanks to councillors who may not be standing for re-election on May 1 for their contribution over the years. The local community council elections were to be held on Thursday, May 1, consequently the next full and annual general meeting will take place on Thursday, May 8, at 7.30 pm in the Community Hall at East Williamston.
