The November meeting of East Williamston Community Council was held in the East Williamston Community Hall. Items under discussion included completion of the footway, parking area repairs and resurfacing at Broadmoor council houses, which had been on the Pembrokeshire County Council list of works for some time.
Following council's report that the weed spraying of the various estates within the community had been completed in the October monthly report, a resident from Pentle Drive had reported that the weed removal/spraying between Pentle Close/Drive and Fountain Head had not been undertaken. A further report would be forwarded to the area maintenance staff.
Members of the community wishing to use the recycling facilities are reminded that bottle and paper banks are now sited on the part of the car park at Cross Inn, Broadmoor, which is leased by the council by the kind permission of Felinfoel Breweries. It is hoped that these facilities will be well used and hopefully a can bank will become available in the future.
The grass contract for the 2004 season for both Pentlepoir and broadmoor would be advertised in the Tenby Observer with a view to letting the tender before the commencement of the next season in February.
Public footpath between Holborn and Templebar Farm: The footpaths officer had agreed to investigate the various repairs required and the legalities of the diversion on the approach to Templebar Farm with a view to confirming the exact route and also to provide the necessary route/waymarking signs.
Pembrokeshire County Council's health improvement section had written to indicate that electric blanket testing would be carried out at various locations throughout the county by appointment. It was resolved that due to the shortage of time to notify members of the community that a request be made for a further session to be held within the Kilgetty district to serve the various local council areas.
Planning decision notices received during the month included demolition of existing garage and rebuilding of new garage and study at 5 Green Park, Pentlepoir (approved); replacement of six-foot close boarded wooden fence with 30-metre long rigid square mesh green plastic coated fencing at Vineyard Vale Road, off Valley Road, Saundersfoot (approved).
