Following an extensive campaign by East Williamston Community Council, Thomas Morgan and Associates, on behalf of Pembrokeshire County Council, had written to indicate that works to construct a new footway between the Ashburnham and Fountain Head at Hill were imminent and that the contract would take approximately eight weeks.

Council were also delighted to receive a letter from the county council, addressed also to Clr. Codd, which indicated that it was proposed to build a footway from the A478 along the Valley Road as far as Lynwood during the 2004/5 financial year.

A meeting had taken place with the contractors installing the play equipment at Broadmoor when it was resolved that works to complete the installation would be undertaken following the clearance of the debris caused by severe weather. The play area will remain closed until all works are completed.

Legal items under consideration were the proposed Code of Conduct training to take place at East Williamston Community Hall on March 4 and licensing renewals, transfers, ie. transfer of licence at the Fountain Head Inn to Mrs. Tina Fecci, of Tenby, and at the Cross Inn Stores, Broadmoor, to Mr. Andrew John Wilson.

Council also considered renewals for the public entertainment licence at East Willamston Community Hall and the Fountain Head Inn. Council had no objection to any of these.

Planning application approvals received from the county council included: Proposed extension and construction of new detached garage at Green Cottage, East Willamston; Alterations internally and new roof covering new porch and small ground floor extension at The Vineyard, Valley Road; New vehicular exit driveway at Morella, Wooden; One dwelling on plot adjacent to Cold Inn Farm, Cold Inn; Proposed covering in of outdoor swimming pool at Sunnyvale Holiday Park, Valley Road; Conversion of existing two-court squash facility into children's activity facility and construction of porch, Woodridge Inn.

An application currently received for consideration was: Car valeting and mechanical repairs workshop (permanent permission) at Hillcroft, Hill Lane.

The new sewerage requisition scheme at Broadmoor would hopefully be live by the end of February. Members were pleased to learn that this scheme was nearing completion following a prolonged campaign to see such a scheme implemented.

Residents at Morgans Lane had requested a street light within this lane. The residents were prepared to dig up a trench and provide a pole if necessary. The clerk was requested to write to the county council to seek their assistance in this matter.

Problems had arisen when the waste paper igloo had been collected at Pentlepoir due to a vehicle parked in front of the paper bank. It was resolved to make a request to members of the public to refrain from using the lay-by outside the school for the parking of unofficial vehicles, because in so doing these vehicles represented a safety hazard and obstructed the normal routine of the school.

Clr. Codd indicated that he had been informed that the nomination to the Tenby Tourism Growth Area Committee had been successful and that the first meetings had already taken place.
