The annual general meeting of East Williamston Community and Hall Association took place on Friday, July 18. The association is the charity which owns both the East Williamston Community Hall and Jubilee Park and Nature Trail, and runs them for the benefit of the communities of East Williamston, Cold Inn, Broadmoor, Pentlepoir, Moreton and Wooden which make up East Williamston parish. Jubilee Park continues to be very popular with locals and visitors alike, with users regularly travelling from as far as Pembroke Dock, and is maintained by the community council and the volunteer group Friends of Jubilee Park. At the AGM, the following committee was elected: chairman - Donald Beynon, vice-chairman - Doug McIntosh, hon. secretary - Ian Wilkinson, hon. treasurer - Lyn Wilkinson, hall booking clerk - Sian Beynon, members - Graham Doney, Debbie Hight, Maggie Pegg, Jean Ratcliffe, Kathy Talbot, Jill Thomas and Cliff Williams. Trustees are Kate Andrews, Auriol Beynon and Jennie McIntosh (also press officer). The hall bar was open for a social get-together following the meeting. It will be open again tomorrow (Saturday), from 7.30 pm, when the August quiz evening will take place. At 8 pm, teams will tackle the questions set by Kathy and Jennie, who have promised that they will not be hard, will contain no dates and are designed for fun rather than for Brains of Britain. We shall see! Do come and join in, as a team or individuals (impromptu teams are often made up on the night); charge is still only £2 per person and there is a cash prize for the winners. A raffle will also be held and everyone is always assured of a warm welcome. If a quiz is not your favourite pastime, you can even sit in the bar and listen from afar (at no charge). Sometimes the experts are those not actually taking part!
