The quiz evening held in East Williamston Community Hall on February 11 did not attract as many teams as usual but was, as ever, greatly enjoyed by all who took part. The winners, who called themselves 'Special Branch' were Kerry, Jill, Matthew and David Thomas.
The next quiz will take place in the hall on Saturday, March 11, the bar will be open from 7.30 pm and the event will start at 8 pm.
Newcomers and regular supporters are urged to go and make it the usual highly popular occasion - everyone is very welcome!
The editor is due to start assembling the March community newsletter NEWS (Notes on the East Williamston Scene) this week and would be extremely grateful for contact from all regular contributors, so that the number of reminder 'phone calls can be reduced.
Those who have special items which they would like to have considered for inclusion are very welcome to 'phone Jennie McIntosh on 812125.
Due to delivery to some extra houses in December, the number of newsletters available to be picked up in local shops was much reduced, but there are a few copies left if anyone wishes to call and request one.
The Jubilee Park and Nature Trail in East Williamston village is proving very popular and a large number of trees and hedging bushes have been added to those planted last year.
Picnic benches have now been installed and the daffodils on the approach paths are nearly out. It is confidently expected that the whole area will give a great deal of pleasure to walkers during the months ahead.
