Dyfed-Powys Police will mark Holocaust Memorial Day today (January 27), honouring the lives of victims and their families.
As a mark of respect, flags will be flown at half-mast across the force as staff remember the tragic events and consider this year’s theme of “How Can Life Go On?”
Sadly, antisemitism, racism and hate crime have not gone away, and officers are calling on anyone who has been a victim or witness of any such incident to report it.
Deputy Chief Constable Liane James said: “It is important that we mark Holocaust Memorial Day as a force to remember such tragic events and honour the survivors.
“Hate crimes can be frightening and can leave victims feeling vulnerable and insecure.
“We all need to take responsibility to challenge hate crime, ensuring that we do not stand by when we see prejudice and discrimination being committed.”
If you, or anyone you know, has experienced an incident of hate crime please call into your local police office, speak to an officer or call 101. In the case of an emergency, call 999.
