Tim Beardsworth from Manorbier was one of five members of staff at ITV Digital's Pembroke Dock contact centre to meet HRH the Duke of Edinburgh during last week's tour of Pembrokeshire.

Tim, who holds a Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award, was introduced to the royal guest when he joined staff handling incoming calls to ITV Digital from all over the UK.

Representing the 900-strong workforce recruited to the centre since its opening in July 2000, Tim said: " The Duke was very interested in what we were doing at the centre and where our careers had begun. Meeting him was definitely the highlight of my working life.

"He was very easy to talk to, and he seemed to thoroughly enjoy his visit."

Before meeting the staff, the Duke had met senior representatives from ITV Digital and the partnership of 7C and Manpower, which manages the centre on its behalf. Also present were representatives from the WDA and Pembrokeshire County Council, who pioneered the creation of the Cyber Bay facility with Manpower and the National Assembly.

After listening in to an incoming call, HRH the Duke of Edinburgh unveiled a plaque to commemorate his visit.
