The second Pembrokeshire Duathlon, sponsored by Dragon LNG, taking place at Neyland on Sunday, March 29, is to host the Welsh Duathlon Championships and will also feature as a leg of the Welsh Triathlon Grand Prix Series. The event is organised by Pembrokeshire Triathlon Club.
Although this will undoubtedly attract some faster athletes from across Wales, in age-groups ranging from senior (20-39) up to vintage veteran (60+!), the emphasis is on taking part and having fun. Relay teams are particularly welcome (either two or three people in a team), and there is also a fancy dress prize, which last year was won by Bananaman!
The nominated charity for the event is Adam's Bucketful of Hope Appeal (http://www.bucketfulofhope.co.uk">www.bucketfulofhope.co.uk). The club wants to see the race limit of 150 entries fill to make as much as possible for the charity.
The club is also organising its own Club Triathlon in Haverfordwest on Sunday, April 26, the Pembrokeshire Coast Triathlon in Broad Haven on Saturday, July 11 (which is also a Welsh Triathlon Grand Prix event), and the Pembrokeshire Half Marathon and 10k in Dale on Sunday, September 27 (sponsored by South Hook LNG).
All events are supported by Triexercise in Milford Haven, and details can be found at http://www.pembrokeshire-tri.org.uk">www.pembrokeshire-tri.org.uk or by telephone on 07975 925365.
