Back by popular demand is the Cawl and Chan (cawl and song) evening at The Buccaneer Inn, Tenby, at the end of this month, Sunday, February 28.

The aim of the evening is to have fun whilst celebrating St. David’s Day and the opening of the first ever Welsh medium school in Tenby in September this year.

The evening will be fully bilingual, so will suit all, and all proceeds will go towards the new Welsh medium primary school’s funds.

Entertainment at the Cawl and Chan will be by Ffion Phillips, an accomplished young singer, who is currently preparing to star as Maria in Ysgol y Preseli’s production of The Sound of Music. She will be performing a selection of her own singer-songwriter compositions, traditional Welsh melodies, acoustic pop ballads, and some hits from the musicals. She has wowed guests at The Buccaneer previously, and is a regular performer/winner in Urdd and Young Farmers circles.

An hilarious local character will compère the night, and as usual, those who are inspired by Ffion’s talents will be ‘encouraged’ to take to the stage for a short open mic session!

Homemade cawl will be served, and HARBWR, Tenby Harbour Brewery craft ales, will be available to sample and buy.

The evening starts at 6 pm, tickets cost £8 and are available at the Buccaneer or by calling Julie on 07967 613679.
