Driving with excess alcohol has cost a Saundersfoot teenager his licence for a year.
Eighteen-year-old Wayne Daniel Benjamin Attewell was seen by police driving at London Road, Pembroke Dock, during the early hours of September 18, magistrates sitting in Tenby heard on Tuesday.
Attewell, of 12 Hean Close, was subsequently spoken to by police when he pulled into the garage at Tesco.
Officers could smell intoxicants on his breath and a roadside breath test proved positive.
He was taken to Pembroke Dock police station where an intoximeter reading showed he was over the limit with 49 mg of alcohol in 100 ml of breath.
As the reading was between 40 and 50 mg, Attewell gave a blood sample, which when analysed showed he had 96 mg of alcohol in 100 ml of blood. The legal limit is 80 mg.
Attewell, who pleaded guilty to the offence, was disqualified from driving for 12 months, fined £130 and ordered to pay £55 costs.
