Pembrokeshire Roads Policing Unit are warning people about the dangers of drink driving.

Over the last month, the division has arrested 11 people for driving whilst above the legal alcohol limit; worryingly three of these were over or nearly over three times the legal limit.

These were: 45-year-old man who was arrested at 8.30 pm on a Friday evening; a 45-year-old man who was arrested at 7.15 pm on a Sunday; a 21-year-old man who was involved in a collision at 5.10 am on a Sunday. The man collided with two parked cars and injured his passenger.

Inspector Gareth Thomas said: "The majority of other people arrested were about twice over the legal limit.

"There is no doubt that these people knew that they had had too much to drink, but they chose to disrespect the law and other people by driving.

"It is extremely disappointing that despite constant appeals people are still putting others at risk by driving while they are over the legal limit.

"I would urge anyone who suspects someone of drink driving to contact us - you could save someone's life by doing so."
