Tenby Coastguards and the town's inshore lifeboat were called out last Thursday afternoon after two youths were reported adrift in an inflatable dinghy off the South Beach. They had got into difficulties when the ebbing tide and wind prevented them from returning to the beach. Local vessel, the James Knowle, located the dinghy and kept an eye on it before the arrival of the ILB. "A girl and boy aged 17 from the West Midlands were in the dinghy and neither knew about tides and the effect of the wind on such a flimsy boat, so words of advice were given to them," said a coastguard spokesperson.
