Many of the stars of Pembrokeshire cricket developed their skills by attending the Dragon Cricket Coaching Award Courses.

The courses are terrific value for money with expert tuition, and young cricketers keen to improve their cricketing skills will be able to attend this year's courses during October and November.

The Dragon One and Dragon Three courses have already started at Thornton Sports Hall, Milford Haven, and the Dragon Two course commences at Thornton Hall on Sunday, November 2, from 1 to 3 pm, or on Monday, November 3, from 6 to 8 pm. The course costs just £15.

The Dragon Two course is designed to develop the skills learned from the Dragon One course, with more formal coaching of batting stance and grip, bowling actions and catching skills. The Dragon Two course introduces harder play balls before using the regulation leather cricket ball.

The emphasis throughout the various Dragon award courses is on enjoyment, being part of a team and playing with a high standard of sportsmanship.

Any young cricketer wishing to take part in the courses should contact Ray Kane, secretary of Pembrokeshire Association of Cricket Coaches, on (01646) 682106.
