It will be an evening to remember for a large number of young Pembrokeshire cricketers on Friday, March 6, at Haverfordwest Cricket Club, when they attend the annual Dragon Cricket Coaching Awards Presentation Evening.

Certificates will be presented to all young cricketers who have qualified for the various age group awards and County Junior Caps for the 2008 season will also be presented.

Pembrokeshire's award organiser Stuart Beresford said: "It is an important night for our youngsters who are the future of cricket in the county, for club, region and country. Currently we have several Wales and two young England cricketers playing in Pembrokeshire.

"A number of former Glamorgan players who are involved with cricket development in Wales will be invited to attend.

"We would like the clubs, including Pembroke County Cricket Club, to encourage as many current players as possible to become qualified and actively involved in cricket coaching, so that our good work continues to bring great results.

"The evening is organised by the Pembrokeshire Association of Cricket Coaches, who run the Dragon Award courses at Sports Halls throughout the county from September to January each year. The support of all those involved is much appreciated.

"Entry is free, a finger buffet will be provided and doors are open at 7 pm, with formalities commencing at 7.30 pm."
