Pembrokeshire County Council has repainted the double yellow lines in High Street, Tenby, following discussions between officers from the council and the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority. "The council has always considered it necessary to repaint the lines to help the police enforce parking restrictions in the area," explained a spokesperson. Many locals and town councillors were in uproar that the lines were not replaced after the recent enhancement works in the street, with illegally parked vehicles causing obstruction to motorists. "I'm pleased that the double yellow lines have been replaced on the High Street, the absence of which has caused chaos during the Christmas period, over which time traffic wardens and officers have issued a number of tickets to deter illegal parking along the street," said the town's police chief, Inspector Les Clark.
