NEXT Friday (June 24), sees two bands making their first appearances in West Wales, although some of the musicians involved are no strangers to the venue, Narberth's Queen's Hall. First up will be Bristol-based Jebo, an exceptional modern rock band, born of the impassioned song writing of guitarist Rob Allen, and intense drumming of Jeff France who have both played the Queen's Hall as members of K-Passa. They recruited Lawrie Jones, bass, Phil Dudd, piano/ Hammond organ, and critically acclaimed singer/ songwriter James Hollingsworth, to form an impressive modern rock band. Also on the bill is the Larry Miller Band. Larry Miller has over 700 performances behind him. His spirit, passion and pure genius are attracting and inspiring a magnitude of Blues Rock lovers worldwide. Larry Miller was initially influenced by Freddie King and Peter Green. Following a period spent performing with seasoned pros in the South of England, he formed his own band to play his own songs, his way. His hard working band have shared the stage with Ian Gillan, Climax Blues Band, Peter Green and Walter Trout (who will be appearing later in the year). He has been reaping critical acclaim on both sides of the Atlantic and is fast becoming regarded as one of the UK's finest blues rock guitarists. Expect in-your-face Strat and Les Paul driven blues rock, but don't be surprised when Larry picks up an acoustic for the odd soulful laid-back number. These are two superb bands and should produce a blistering evening. Be there and see them first. First appearances in West Wales. Doors open at 8 pm and tickets are £10.
