Twenty-year-old Angharad James from Llandissilio had an evening to remember on Monday after she was named FAW Young Women's Player of the year for the second successive year at the FAW Football Awards in Cardiff.
The ace central midfielder started every senior international for Wales during 2014 and has now amassed 32 caps. She also started in every game for her club side Bristol in the Women's Super League, scoring twice.
Despite her success, she has remained strong to her roots and is proud that her former junior school Ysgol Brynconin has arranged two bus trips to see her represent her country and in return she has awarded one of her senior Welsh shirts to the school and one to the Village Hall.
Her achievements are all the more remarkable as she combines playing with a full time degree in Sports Science at Bath University alongside her role as peripatetic coach for children aged six to 11.
She is also a qualified coach and has become one of the lead coaches at the Bristol Academy Centre of excellence for girls aged seven to 16.
