Winner of the Rotary Club of Tenby's 'Trolley Dash Raffle' at the town's Somerfield Store, Mr. Tim Dooner, undertook his prize last weekend. Mr. Dooner had double reason to celebrate as only a couple of days earlier, his daughter Jessica had given birth to his first grandchild, a bouncing baby boy named Cobin.
As well as a little something to wet the baby's head, Tim, ably assisted by Somerfield staff, Lorraine Jones and Barrie Evans, was able to get a host of goods in the five minutes allowed, and with Christmas on the horizon, the opportunity to purchase some festive goodies was not missed. Tenby Rotary Club president, Graham Fry, said that the club were delighted with the way that the trolley dash raffle had gone; they had received excellent support from the community, for which the club was very grateful.
"The raffle had raised some £600, and we would like to sincerely thank Mr. Simon Hunt, Somerfield store manager, Mrs. Lorraine Jones, Somerfield's charity co-ordinator, and their colleagues in the store for facilitating the event and, of course, everyone who purchased a raffle ticket - thank you all".
