Four sheep were found dead in Templeton last Thursday, not far from where the ewe, allegedly killed by the Prince's Gate 'panther', was discovered last week.

However, in this latest incident, farmers Messrs. Lewis, of Llangwathen, and the local vet who attended, are satisfied that their ewes and lambs were the victims of a dog attack.

Dyfed Powys Police officers and a Pembrokeshire County Council animal welfare inspector also attended, to continue their interest in reports of dead animals in such circumstances.

Mr. Lewis's Poll Dorsets had lambed last month, making them especially vulnerable to attack from dogs.

Dog owners are reminded that any dogs found worrying local livestock risk being shot. Stock-keepers are permitted in law to do this under the Dogs (Protection of Livestock) Act 1953.
