Lisa Haf (pictured) from Mynachlog Ddu, Clunderwen, is one of 20 budding singing stars from across Wales battling it out for S4C's WawFfactor musical talent show crown in 2005. With a panel of judges including Radio 1 DJs Bethan Elfyn and Aled Haydn Jones, Natalie Imbruglia's guitarist Peredur ap Gwynedd and ex-Catatonia star Owen Powell gearing up to measure the talent, the series gets underway tonight (Friday) at 8.25pm. Presented by Eleri Siôn, the six-part series will see contestants knocked out at each stage until the show's final when three individuals will battle it out to win the judges' praise and the public's affections in a live vote. Throughout the series, vocal coach Caryl Parry Jones and former Take That choreographer Kim Gavin will offer the musical hopefuls tips on how to improve their performances. The WawFfactor winner will get the opportunity to record a CD and try out some presenting on S4C as a prize. Lisa, 18, who is studying in Cardiff, lists Don't Stop Me Now by Queen as her favourite song and Elin Fflur and Norah Jones as her vocal heroines. Last year's winner, Lisa Pedrig from Ammanford, is currently preparing to support Cardiff-based singer songwriter Any Wadge on her forthcoming tour and has also performed a number of times on television in Wales. Lisa Pedrig said: "I have learnt so much about performing and presenting in front of an audience as a result of taking part in WawFfactor."
