An hour's dive for a Pembroke Dock mother and her 19-year-old daughter at Lydstep Bay nearly ended in tragedy when the mother's oxygen cylinder valve developed a fault and air could not pass through.
The mother released her weight belt to surface, but it became tangled up on her wrist.
Both managed to surface and tried to make the shore from approximately 150-metres out, but couldn't make any headway.
Neither was injured and words of advice were given to both divers who were diving without a 'Dive Marshall' being present.
Tenby's all-weather lifeboat the Haydn Miller was also launched to go to the aid of the divers.
The ALB quickly arrived on scene and found that the pair were in the process of being dropped ashore. The Tamar class vessel stood by as the casualties were taken ashore
