The Inner Wheel Club of Tenby is honoured and delighted that one of its members, Mrs. Toni Lucas, is to be chairman of Inner Wheel District 15 for the year 2009-2010.

The District AGM and Installation Luncheon was held at the De Valence Pavilion on last Thursday and was attended by over 160 members and guests from all over South Wales. District 15 has a total of 42 clubs and extends from Pembrokeshire and Ceredigion to Newport and Monmouth.

Born in Cardiff and brought up in Porthcawl, Toni moved to Tenby in 1998 with her husband Ian and daughter Kilby. After joining Tenby Inner Wheel in 1999, Toni became president in 2003. Having served as District treasurer for three years, she was appointed District vice-chairman in 2008.

The Inner Wheel Club of Tenby has, up to now, only provided three District chairmen in its 62-year history; Mrs. Pinnie Howells, 1953-1954, Mrs. Sybil Scourfield, 1957-1958 and Mrs. Francess Lewis, whose installation was held at the De Valence in 1962.

Toni has nominated Ty Hafan as her chosen charity and all clubs in the District will contribute to this very deserving cause.
