Greenhill School was the venue last week for a Fashion Show of distinctive outfits.
Mrs. Nicola Ryan, owner of Pretty Woman, of Pembroke, suggested the show because she had heard the girls in Year 10 were planning a Prom during 2010 and wanted to showcase the dresses that were available in Pembrokeshire. She then involved other outlets - IDOS, of Narberth, Excentrix, of Tenby and Mr. Roberts Formal, of Pembroke Dock.
Help was offered by Andrew Price, of Tenby, who supplied willing volunteers to arrange the models' hair, and Pembrokeshire College beauty students did the make-up.
Using family and friends and volunteer students as models, the evening proved a huge success. Over 200 tickets were sold and everyone remarked how professional the models acted on the catwalk, the stunning and alternative outfits on display and how they had enjoyed a pleasant winter's evening watching the show.
Friends of Greenhill manned the ticket desk and arranged the refreshments. Alison Lewis was phenomenal as the back stage manager - her help was invaluable to the smooth running of the catwalk, while Mrs. Ryan and her host of helpers kept the models quick changes revolving through the dressing rooms and Leyton and Jason working the sound and lights.
The prom committee organised the raffle, raising £155 for their event funds - thank you to everyone who donated prizes.
