Chairman of Tenby Cottage Hospital's League of Friends, Mrs. Pat Wright, has been disappointed to learn of a delay in processing the proposals for the town's new health care facility.
A full business case for the project was due to go before the Pembrokeshire and Derwen NHS Trust yesterday (Thursday), before a submission to the Local Health Board next month.
But, in a letter received by Mrs. Wright this week from the Trust's acting chief executive, Keith Jones, she was informed that there had been late complications associated with the offer of a free gift of land for the facility by the Parker family, of Tenby's Park House Nursing Home.
"Despite strenuous efforts by our staff, more time is required to finish the document to required standard," explained Mr. Jones.
"As a result, this will not be an agenda item for the Trust Board meeting on June 26," he continued.
"I appreciate that this is disappointing to all concerned and I will keep you informed of further progress."
Whilst disappointed at the delay, Mrs. Wright is looking forward to the final outcome of the scheme.
"I realise this is essential to ensure we get the right outcome for the new health care provision," she said.
