Pretty villages of Pembrokeshire walk: This guided walk leads north from Manorbier Station, crosses the Ridgeway to the picturesque village of St. Florence and then provides opportunities to enjoy spectacular views of Caldey Island on the descent to the coast at Lydstep. From here the route leads along a stretch of Coast Path to the historic village of Manorbier with its impressive Norman Castle.
The walk, which takes place tomorrow (Saturday) is the fourth in this year's series of Guided Walks from Pembrokeshire Railways Stations.
Starting from Manorbier Station at 11.51, the route is approximately nine miles long. Led by an experienced guide, walkers will be back at Manorbier Station in time to catch the 16.37 (eastbound) or, if they wish to spend longer in Manorbier, can opt to make their own way back to the station in time for the 18.35.
The walk is provided free of charge and is open to anyone wishing to discover the delights of the some of Pembrokeshire's pretty villages and dramatic coastal scenery. It is organised by PLANED as part of the Greenways initiative, which promotes access-for-all to the countryside by environmentally sustainable means. It is supported by the European Union Objective 1 (ERDF) programme and Wales and Borders Passenger Trains.
Free leaflets, which provide further details of the programme and assistance with planning to/from the walks, are available from Sarah Worby on (01834) 860965/email [email protected]">[email protected].
