The Visit Pembrokeshire Ltd organisation has announced its decision to cease operating.

A statement from the chair of the board of directors of Visit Pembrokeshire Ltd, Chris Osborne, said that it was with ‘significant disappointment’ that they announce the initiative to create a trade driven organisation to undertake the destination marketing of Pembrokeshire has ‘failed’.

“After nearly two years of effort, four consultations, numerous meetings and presentations with tourism operators, organisations, networks, Pembrokeshire Coast National Park and Pembrokeshire County Council members, councillors and officers, this is, indeed, a frustrating outcome,” said Mr. Osborne.

“Our Board and Pembrokeshire County Council officers were unable to resolve staffing and financial projection challenges.

“We shall now refocus on Pembrokeshire Tourism Association’s future and its representation of the industry’s ambitions and aspirations.

“PCC are to persevere with setting up a tourism trust as a subsidiary to the trust they propose for delivery of leisure and cultural services,” he added.
