I don't know whether you or your readers know, but every week in this country 10 to 15 people die, simply due to the fact that there are not enough human organ donors to supply people who need transplants. Many children wait five to six years for a kidney transplant.
There is a move afoot at present to see that the number of people signed on to the Organ Donor Register is increased considerably over the next few years.
As you know, stem cell research is going on at present and, hopefully, in perhaps five years, human organ transplants won't be needed. But, until then, there is still a desperate need for donors to supply human organs to people who urgently need them.
