Ryan Draper graduated last week with a Masters in Engineering Robotics 2.1 from Plymouth University. He was also awarded the Innovative Industrial Solutions Award.

Shirley Draper, his grandmother, of Merlins Gardens, with Ryan’s mother Gwen and Mark attended the ceremony held on Plymouth Hoe in a huge marquee.

Ryan’s graduation was the middle one of three ceremonies, and the university had three every weekday that week. A huge group photo of all the graduates of each ceremony was taken.

Ryan was educated at Tenby, Angle and Golden Grove Primary Schools, and at Pembroke Bush Secondary School. He is now working for a robotic submarine firm in Plymouth.

Also recently Ryan achieved his black belt 1st dan, in Aikido martial arts, at the summer school held at Burry Port. He started Aikido with the Pembroke Club, and now belongs to the Plymouth Club.
