Rhys Evans, son of Tony Evans and Pauline Evans, of Pembroke, and grandson of Cecil and Lon Evans, of Tenby, had the degree of Bachelor of Science (hons), 2:2 in computer science, conferred upon him at a ceremony at Swansea University's Brangwyn Hall on Friday.

Rhys attended Golden Grove Primary School in Pembroke, where he was educated through the medium of the Welsh language.

Bilingual by the age of 11, he continued his education through the medium of the Welsh language at Ysgol y Preseli, Crymych, and after attaining good grades at A level standard, he was accepted at Swansea University to study computer science.

A keen sportsman, he played rugby at the university, and enjoyed surfing.
