It was an afternoon of learning from the Psalms at this week's meeting of the Fellowship, with chairperson Miss Bertha Walters reading Psalm 111 and the guest speaker using Psalm 73 for the basis of his address on doubting the fairness of God experienced by many people at some time during their lives.
Rev. Norman Gilbert, of Cosheston, certainly captured the attention of his listeners with his interpretation of the Psalm when as he saw it Asaph experienced discovery, dilemma and delight. It was a delivery which contained great in-depth as well as an up-to-date outlook.
In giving thanks, Miss Walters spoke for all when expressing the hope of a return visit by this gentleman who had also passed on an interesting resume of his life and family background and journey to the ministry.
Mrs. Olwen Dickinson was the pianist, with Miss Margaret Turner and Mrs. Brenda Court tea hostesses.
Next week, the guest will be Rev. Tom McManus.
