Fundraising for Tenby's Jubilee Play Park received a boost this week when members of Deer Park Baptist Church presented the Friends of the Jubilee Park with a cheque for £500.
The £85,000 project, devised by the Friends and Tenby Town Council, combines a range of play equipment for seven to 12-year-olds with a wheeled play facility for skateboarders, inline skaters and micros scooter and BMX users.
The project was part funded by grants from Tenby Town Council, Pembrokeshire County Council and Dyfed-Powys Police, donations from local organisations, individuals and shops and fundraising initiatives by the Friends.
Friends treasurer Mrs. Christine Brown was delighted by the generosity of the members of the church.
"Although the park was completed in July, the Friends still had a shortfall of around £15,000 to find," she explained. "Tenby Town Council agreed to loan us the shortfall to enable the park to be open in time for the summer season.
"We are continuing to fundraise, not only to pay back this loan, but also to hopefully further improve facilities in the Park, so we would like to thank the members of Deer Park for their very generous cheque towards the project."
