A new year enables one to consider new beginnings on life's journey. This was one of the features that the congregation experienced on attending the first worship service of a new year.
They were welcomed by Mr. Chris Llewellyn. A prayer of commitment, written by John Wesley for Christians at the start of a new year, was read by Mr. Bryn Rees. This was followed by a short communion service.
Chris concluded his series of sermons on the life of Peter by looking at 'Peter the Writer', taking as his text some words from Peter's 1st Letter, chapter 2, expressing the true nature of God's people, 'The Church'.
Who are we? Among points mentioned are we are chosen people, precious to God, a Holy nation and a Royal Priesthood and we are to 'Declare the Praise of Him', to tell how wonderful God is, giving fullness of Life and certainty of Eternal Life.
This is summed up on our church noticeboard, 'a community making Jesus known'.
This Sunday, the Rev. John Potter will be the preacher. Next week, the usual series of weekly meetings will take place. Please 'phone 843392 for further details.
