Regular worshippers, joined by visitors, including two church youth workers from Stockton-on-Tees, were greeted by Mr. Gerald Duffett at the door. Mrs. Helen Hills welcomed everyone, giving Family News including information about weekly meetings. The stirring worship hymns and songs were played by the Music Group, with Mr. Keith Evans on the keyboard, Tessa on the flute and Barbara on the clarinet. Keith led the worship and time of Open Prayer, culminating in the Lord's Prayer. Mrs. Pauline Evans gave a visual presentation of her recent visit to Uganda. We learned more details about the work of the orphanage, which this fellowship supports. Downstairs on several notice boards was a diary of her time abroad as seen through the eyes of 'Barnaby' the toy bear, who was even allowed to sit in the pilot's seat before their aircraft took off! Members of the Junior Lightseekers Club listened intently. Mr. Keith Evans (from Neath) preached about 'Hope' and based his remarks on Matthew 9:18-26. He concentrated upon the risk taken by an ill woman to own up that she had touched the hem of Christ's gown! She was considered to be 'unclean' and so it was against the Jewish law for someone in her condition to make contact with others. Also the boy who gave up his food for the crowd of 5,000 men to be fed along with the extra women and children took a risk. If no miracle had occurred, he would have lost his rations to remain unfed and hungry. The closing hymn was played on the organ by Keith, who gave the Benediction and the shared Grace. Refreshments were served after the service, giving people the opportunity to chat informally. During school term time, the Parent-Toddler Group meets in the Church Hall each Thursday between 10 am and noon. Also, the Prayer and Bible Study Meeting is held weekly each Friday starting at 7.30 pm. This Friday it is hoped to study the Epistle of Jude. The speaker this Sunday is Rev. Dr. David Pusey from Broad Haven.
