Despite the very inclement weather for the end of August, a goodly number of the congregation consisted of visitors, mainly from South Wales.

The visitors were greeted on entering the church by Mrs. Scilla Howard. Mr. Chris Llewellyn led the service. He chose as his theme the words of Jesus found in John's gospel, chapter 8, verse 12, 'I am the light of the world.'

The selected worship songs reflected these words and Chris in this sermon dealt first with the natural characteristics of light, without which ordinary life on earth would not exist. Chris noted the meaning of the expression 'light of the world' as used by Jesus.

The life found in Jesus brings purpose, meaning, guidance, direction and security to daily living.
