Mrs. Carol Ansell gave a greeting to visitors and friends on entering the church. Mr. Chris Llewellyn led the service, while music accompanists for the worship were Jan, Tessa, Barbara and Frank Howard.

The worship songs, chosen by Barbara and Tessa, all focused on the 'grace of God' and were much appreciated by the congregation.

After the prayer time, Chris took a Bible reading from Genesis parts of chapters 12-13, which detail the journey of Abram into Egypt and the separation from his cousin Lot who travelled into Jordan, on which he based his sermon. Abram, in going into and living in Egypt, disobeyed God, of which he later repented.

Lot and his herdsmen were captured by rebel armies in Jordan and Abram came to his rescue. Chris emphasised the necessity for the Christian to know and follow God's purposes. If this doesn't happen, there is a need to retrace one's steps to discern God's original intentions.

There will be no parent toddlers group meeting next week because of half-term.
